Abstract
The lexicographic representation of football lexical units in English and Uzbek presents significant challenges due to linguistic, cultural, and structural
differences. The development of bilingual dictionaries and specialized glossaries requires a comprehensive approach to categorizing, defining, and translating football related terminology. This study examines the issues faced in the lexicographic treatment of football vocabulary, including inconsistencies in definition, lack of standardization, and adaptation of loanwords. By utilizing existing linguistic theories on lexicography, terminology management, and lexical borrowing, this research provides insights into improving bilingual lexicographic practices and sports language translation.
